welcome, hello, hi!

Hello, and welcome. I guess we should introduce ourselves and get to know each other a little bit better. This online shop is run by a husband, Kelsey, and a wife, Ronja. We are both very interested in design, clothes and shoes, vintage, furniture and interior, film, architecture, art, photography and of course food. All of these interests and inspirations guide us and dictate how we work.

Ronja, has worked as a photographer since 2013, and is the creative one creating all the visuals and photography. Kelsey has a master in small businesses and sustainability and is the brains and muscle behind, well all the rest.  

We always collaborate, both in life and work. The collaboration through the whole process from choosing and collecting the vintage pieces, to making the website, the photography and the videos, the brands we choose and the tone and essence we wish you, the "guest" leave the website with, is really important for us. 

So you might ask, “why vintage? Why a online shop, and not a physical one?”

Well, there is many roads that led us to choosing exactly this. Firstly, we don’t think there is a specific answer to why we chose vintage clothing and accessories. Maybe it has something to do with the sustainability of it all and maybe it has to do with the fact that there is such an abundance of great vintage to be found. Maybe it has to do with our own appreciation of finding one of a kind vintage pieces, us ourselves love and cherish.

We had a physical space, and it was a lovely little shop in a neighbourhood we both really like to spend time in. There is nothing better than all the exiting interactions you get to have with people in a physical store. There is also the part that clothes need to be tried on, to get a proper idea of the fit, and the fabrics need to be touched so you can get the full picture. But having a physical space also brings many challenges, to be honest. And in the end, even though it was sad to close the physical space and shop down, we tried to look at it as a new opportunity and a fresh new start for us, to create a better shop and space for creativity and inspiration.

This lead us to creating Va bene vintage & archive. We have always believed that a shop, both physical and online can be so much more than just the pieces we are selling and the transaction between seller and costumer. We wish to inspire, and to create a space where we can show our creativity, share our thoughts and communicate with other like minded people.
